In my Astrology Unpacked podcast about the August 27/28 Pisces lunar eclipse, I mentioned that I was keeping my eye on Mitch McConnell and Lindsay Clancy. Now that several weeks have passed, I thought it would be interesting to revisit those forecasts and see what actually happened.
Since McConnell’s 1° Pisces Sun was getting some of this eclipse energy, I said I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some unexpected or shocking news about him and commented that I would certainly be shocked if he returned to work.
On September 3, Rep. James Comer shared that McConnell’s office said their goal was for him to return to work on September 14, and on that day, he returned to the Senate floor.
And yes, I was shocked 🙃
As for Lindsay Clancy, with deliberations in her trial scheduled to begin the day of the eclipse, I said that I was curious to see if there would be a hung jury, shocking verdict or some other type of unexpected development.
On September 4, Clancy’s trial ended in a mistrial due to a hung jury. The vote was 11-1, with one juror voting for a guilty verdict. However, the surprises didn’t end there.
Several jurors have publicly discussed the deliberations and made claims against the holdout juror, who is being treated like a pariah by some and hailed as a hero by others. The situation took an ugly turn when the holdout juror was doxxed and harassed, which led to all of the jurors’ identities being sealed indefinitely over safety concerns.
On September 29, Clancy’s attorney will be back before Judge Sullivan, arguing that Sullivan erred when he declared the mistrial and that retrying Clancy would violate her double jeopardy protections. If Sullivan rejects the argument, the defense can then take the issue to a higher court.
As you can see, this lunar eclipse certainly delivered the unexpected—and the story isn’t over yet.
